Detoxification

Detoxification is a common activity carried out by the body 24 hours a day. Depending on what challenges we are giving our body, it is an easy or very difficult cycle of action, often incomplete.

Detoxification may seem to benefit only one portion of the body, yet it achieves marked improvements throughout the entire system. Because the body is a symphony of interconnected ecosystems, one positive change anywhere alters and improves the natural balance of the entire body.

The type and amount of foods we ingest will either keep us healthy or slowly create a toxic environment. Toxicity and many chronic diseases are the result of an accumulation of waste material collected at a site devoid of oxygen, energy and circulation, when the body has been overwhelmed with substances that either do not break down fast enough or do not break down at all.

All toxicity slows down and impedes body functions and metabolism. This condition makes it extremely difficult to lose weight. Body fat absorbs and holds toxins to prevent these poisons from attacking the body. This is the same reason why excess weight is resistant to breaking down as it acts like a toxin collection system.

The hidden key to weight-loss is to remove toxins on a regular basis from  the liver, the kidneys and the colon, following the same basic approach to clearing the body of unwanted elements. Some of the foods that naturally heal and cleanse our body and colon are oranges, lemons, grapefruit, garlic onion, cayenne, tomatoes, bell pepper, cumin, radishes, coconut and most important – water.

The Eyes – the Windows to the Soul

The science of Iridology is based on the analysis of one of the most complicated tissue structures of the whole body – the iris. It is a method whereby a trained professional can tell from the markings or signs in the iris, the reflex condition of various organs and systems of the body.

These markings represent a detailed picture of the integrity of the body, its constitutional strength, areas of congestion or toxic accumulations and inherited strengths and weaknesses.

Ancient texts revere the eyes as the link between the physical and spiritual universe. Each eye gives us different information. The left eye correlates with the left side of the body and the feminine aspect while the right eye correlates with the right side of the body and the masculine aspect.

The iris of the eyes is directly connected to the brain, the sympathetic nervous system and spinal cord. The optic tract extends to the thalamus area of the brain and creates a close association with the hypothalamus, pituitary and pineal glands. These areas of the brain play a vital role in healing and in maintaining health.

Nature has provided us with an invaluable insight into the vital status of the body by transmitting this information to the eyes. With Iridology we have a simple, painless, economical and non-invasive way of assessing internal conditions and levels of health. This is not to say that we should exclude other forms of analysis.

Detox for Health

hThe term detoxification is one that is commonly associated with alcohol, drug and substance abuse; as well as dieting and loss of weight.

Our bodies naturally detoxify every day – detoxification is a normal body process of eliminating or neutralizing toxins through the colon, liver, skin and lungs. If you feel congested from too much food or the wrong kinds of food, you may want to detoxify. If your energy level is low, if you have been taking medications that have not been eliminated from your system, a weekend detox may help you feel better.

In Chinese medicine and other ancient societies, cleansing diets, herbs, fasting and natural cleansing methods have been used to detoxify the body for hundreds of years. For many ancient cultures, fasting was used as a means of cleansing the body and the mind for spiritual practices.

Toxic and polluted food systems, air, water and environment make cleansing the colon, liver and other organs more important now than ever. The burden of over-pollution may be responsible for deleterious effects on the immune system, a scenario which makes us highly susceptible to chronic degenerative diseases such as some forms of cancer, heart disease, diabetes, Alzheimer, and more.

Detoxification is performed in a variety of ways including nutritional supplements, homeopathics, herbal mixtures, foot-detox, oral chelating agents, safe mercury removal, etc.  Once heavy metal burden is relieved, parasite, yeast and organic elimination can be accomplished easier.

Detoxification is one of the best ways to remain healthy in a polluted and toxic environment. Signs that detoxification is needed: unexplained headaches or back pain, memory failing, brittle nails and hair, frequent allergies, exposure to cleansing solvents, pesticides, diuretics and pharmaceutical drugs, etc.      Benefits of detoxification are that liver, kidney, and blood purification can take place – which would not occur otherwise. Other advantages include: stimulation of the immune and hormonal system, while dependency on substances such as sugar, caffeine, nicotine or alcohol may be reduced.

One of the best ways to start your day: Just add lemon to your water in the morning. Lemons contain a pure concentrated form of citric acid which assists the cleansing process.

The best treatment for acid reflux is prevention

Many people blame heartburn on various foods and avoiding these foods can be part of acid reflux prevention. On the other hand, there may be other causes for this painful chest discomfort, which can yield symptoms resembling a heart attack. Chest pain, stomach cramps and pains or asthma and nocturnal coughing, could be related to acid reflux. The best treatment for acid reflux is prevention and antacid tablets aren’t the answer.

When the body sends a message of dysfunction, it’s better to listen to it, rather than stifle it. Antacids have become the common reaction to “rebellious stomach,” also known as gastro-esophageal reflux disease, or acid reflux. The condition is caused by a lack of hydrochloric acid to digest food, which causes backing up of stomach acids, into the esophagus.

Certain foods require more hydrochloric acid to digest, but taking antacids may only disguise symptoms, when additional, natural stomach acid is needed, to properly digest food. Fixing underlying problems, which lead to the condition, is recommended. Since the best treatment for acid reflux is prevention, finding the actual causes of acid reflux is important.

Many people may not consider parasite activity and invasions may be in the pancreas, gall bladder, liver or small intestine. In alternative medicine, an Acupuncture Meridian Assessment may detect these problems, which aren’t detectable by examining the stomach.

Over a period of time, leaky gut and ulcers can result from acid reflux, which aggravates the problem. Parasitic activity can begin or become more pronounced. Food allergies, irritable bowel syndrome and a gradual deterioration of the digestion system become obvious.   Read more….

Raw food: More powerful than most medicines

hThe original diet of humans was only raw food, before the discovery of fire and unnatural processing. A raw food diet is more powerful than most medicines, since natural nutrition is full of powerful nutrients and free of chemical additives or preservatives.

The Caveman diet is a version of the raw food diet, named for ancient humans in extreme conditions, who consumed raw food of their local environment. Grains were [Read more…]

Ten Rules for Better Health

Cherish your health. If it is good, preserve it. If it is declining, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help

(1)  Set realistic goals and expectations. They are your choice. (2) Replace sodas and soft drinks with plain water or herbal teas. A single 12 ounce can of soda has as much as 13 teaspoons of sugar in the form of high-fructose corn syrup. (3) Make a decision to think of food as nourishment. Eat what your body needs. (4) Commit to eating one fruit or raw vegetable with each meal (preferably organically grown). (5) Instead of watching television, read more books or pursue a hobby. Stay active mentally and physically. (6) Get more sunshine by choosing outdoor activities like gardening. (7)  Try to get some form of exercise every day. (8) Rest and relax – try to get at least eight hours of sleep. Most people are sleep deprived, and the health cost is enormous. (9) Make a point to learn how to safely and gradually get yourself off medications by eliminating underlying imbalances or illnesses. The fewer medications you take, the healthier you’ll be. (10) Forgive and forget. Letting go of anger and bitterness can drastically improve your health.

Do all these things and you will be a happier, healthier person. Small changes to your lifestyle will improve your overall health in the long term. Once you begin to feel the benefits of these changes, you may want to include:  Whole body cleansing, diet and weight-loss programs, detoxification and others.
