Fake Foods and Empty Calories

How much of the food we eat on a regular basis is real and how much is fake? Are we consuming real, wholesome grains, fruits and vegetables or some look-alike, taste-alike substitutes?

Are the hormone and anti-biotic added animal products and the farm-raised fish offerings the same as the free range and organically raised live stock?

The shelves in the grocery store are lined with products that have been processed, pasteurized, genetically modified, bleached, nutritionally depleted and artificially colored to give the appearance of fresh, healthy foods.

The question we must ask is this real food or a fake substitute? Will consuming these foods keep us healthy or does it confuse our body and promote cravings, weight gain and a nutrient deprived environment leading to a variety of health problems.
